Seaweed J. Stubbs is the smooth son of Motormouth Maybelle and older brother of Little Inez. He befriends Tracy Turnblad when she was sent to detention for skipping class. In "The New Girl in Town", he is smitten with Penny Pingleton. When his mom is hosting the platter party, he was the one who invited Tracy, Penny, and Link. In the 1988 film, Seaweed is portrayed by Clayton Prince. In the 2007 film, he is portrayed by Elijah Kelley.
